About 小松 (XiaoSong)
小松 (XiaoSong) is the second cuckoo to be fitted with a tag in 2017 at Yeyahu. 小松 (XiaoSong) is a male of the bakeri subspecies and we expect him to remain at Yeyahu for the summer before heading to Africa in the autumn. He was named by the staff at Yeyahu Wetland Reserve in recognition of their outstanding hospitality and support for the Beijing Cuckoo Project. The name 小松 (XiaoSong) means “Small pine tree”.
Updates:
9 June 2017
小松 (XiaoSong)’s tag seems to be transmitting ok and the early data shows that he is roaming the area around Yeyahu Wetland Reserve, where he was tagged. We expect him to remain in this area until the autumn when, all being well, he will begin his journey to Africa.
